Heel Fissure Care

A restorative heel-care protocol for deep cracks.

Heel fissures can develop due to a combination of factors including dry skin, foot structure, body weight, unsuitable footwear and long hours spent standing. Deep cracks can cause pain and, by disrupting skin integrity, may increase the risk of infection.

After a podology assessment, hardened and thickened skin is removed in a controlled manner using suitable techniques. Care recommendations supporting the skin's moisture balance are then provided, along with a home-care plan tailored to the individual's needs.
