Sports Foot Care: Tips for Training and Race Day
Regular training raises the risk of calluses, blisters, nail bruising and skin problems. Proper shoe fit, moisture management and regular podology care prevent most of these issues.
Before a race, safe nail trimming and controlled thinning of friction-prone hardening visibly improve in-shoe comfort. Blisters are evaluated with sterile technique and infection risk in mind.
Ideally, care is scheduled at least a few days before a race so the foot adapts to the treatment. Depending on training load, follow-up every 3–6 weeks is recommended.
Investing in your feet protects comfort, reduces injury risk and supports training continuity.
